Lotus Festival

Well it was an exciting weekend at the BCT. We were thrilled to act as one of the venues for Bloomington's own Lotus Festival, showcasing international music and art. We hosted three music groups on our stage on Thursday, three Friday, and three more on Saturday. There were long lines waiting to get in, as the BCT filled up quickly with eager audience members. But everyone rotated through, freeing up seats, and the lines moved efficiently. As house managers, we tried to get everyone in as quickly as we could! It seemed everyone had a great time overall. During the last act on Saturday night, we even had some dancers! A few photos & videos I took below... forgive the poor video skills.... --Sarah

Fetching the dogbone!

With its restoration complete and a fresh coat of paint, Bloomington's landmark 'dogbone' marquee is back home and shining brighter than ever!

We had a treat watching the installation from our office windows!

BCT Unearthed!

BCT Program Associate Patrick Davey with his new buddies.

As the Buskirk-Chumley Theater progresses with its renovations, something wicked this way comes...the hellmouth beneath the BCT opened, unleashing frightening, bloodthirsty, terrifying...decorations! AAAAHHHH!!!

The 2008 Dark Carnival Film Festival invaded the Buskirk this past weekend for its events, including screenings, a terrifyingly seductive fashion show and special guest stars of horror fame.

Fashion+Function+Art

The Buskirk-Chumley will be holding its annual fundraising event, Fashion+Function+Art this October 23rd at 7pm.

Downtown retailers will be showing their fashions, and local 'celebrities' will be strutting their stuff down the runway. Do you know any local celebrities that should be working the runway? People who are on the cutting edge of today's fashion or have a following that rivals Elvis? Email suggestions (with contact info) to info@buskirkchumley.org.

Tickets for FFA are $15 general admission and $10 student.
